  • Boston Tix + T-Shirt Giveaway: WHEAT at Grea ..
This coming Saturday, June 26th at Great Scott , Wheat will take the stage after Allston's own The Beatings - an unenviable task that is essentially a win-win for anyone in the crowd. The better the Beatings, the more pressure on Wheat to keep things rocking, but I'm pretty sure they're up to the task. I've been a Wheat fan for over a decade now, watched as they entered and emerged from the dark tunnel of the quote-unquote recording industry, and I'm damn grateful the guys are still around, still writing and releasing songs (their latest is ...

  • VIDEO: Wheat, “Changes Is”
This video apparently came out back in July, yet somehow I had no idea that it existed. Bad blogger. Anyway, another album that merits Honorable Mention for my favorites of 2009 is Wheat’s White Ink, Black Ink. Buy it here.

  • Best of '09: Band Lists...North Highlands ..
Just a couple of weeks ago North Highlands released their debut EP Sugar Lips , a record with a soothingly sweet blend of indie pop, folk, and psychedelic sounds. We haven't yet gotten around to posting on the EP, the onslaught of the holiday season and all this list making have left us with little time and a little too weary to write much on any new music, but hopefully you guys will all head on over to the iTunes store after checking out their song "Collar Bones" below. Mike Barron who helms the guitar duties of North Highlands put ...

This Saturday, August 1st, the pride of Taunton, Mass. celebrates the release of their brand new album with a show at Allston's Great Scott. Yes, Wheat has returned. Their "White Ink Black Ink" hit the streets last week thanks to The Rebel Group label, and they've invited locals Bon Savants and Brooklyn's The XYZ Affair to help mark the occasion with this weekend's Massconcerts-presented bash.A

  • CD Review: Wheat, “White Ink Black Ink”
“We’ve kinda found that people really dig one record of ours or another, and then kinda want that version of Wheat to be the one that they always get,” said Brendan Harney, one half of the Boston-area indie-pop band, in a recent interview for the website of Express, an offshoot of the Washington Post. “And [...]

Brittany GrayTo call the Wheat story a long and winding one would be more than a little bit of understatement. • Wheat – White Ink, Black Ink [Album Review] ..
Over the past several years, Boston outfit Wheat has been hopping labels, keeping a fairly low profile and seemingly trying to find themselves. After lead-singer Scott Levesque lost his father in 2008, it provided some of the inspiration needed for a new album. On July 21, Wheat is set to release their latest, White Ink, [...]

  • Wheat - White Ink, Black Ink
Although it was initially planned for release on June 9th, the new album from Wheat entitled White Ink, Black Ink is coming July 21st. The duo seems excited by the release and are ready to incorporate fans' support - they released "El Sincero" back in May and told folks to submit videos of themselves singing along with the song for their official music video, which has yet to be released.
