News: Raising Funds For Soundproofing: Venue ..Melbourne’s Pure Pop Records will host a benefit gig next month to raise money for costly soundproofing. The St Kilda record store – located on busy Barkly Street – has been hosting regular gigs in their outdoor courtyard for the past couple years, but will now have to enclose the space in light of ongoing noise complaints. Owner Dave Stevens said he hoped the renovations would finally put the issue to bed. “We need to fully enclose the courtyard with a roof and side walls - all which must be acoustically treated,” Stevens told M+N .
