Listen: Vermillion Sands – Summer MelodyFirst time Vermillion Sands crossed my path they were opening for Dum Dum Girls and well, I was much more impressed by them than by Dee Dee’s crew. Once I got home from the gig, I googled ‘em and found out that these guys had already released stuff on labels like Sacred Bones and Alien Snatch! Vermillion Sands are now back with an interesting 7” (out on italian Shit Music For Shit People) featuring a track for the summer season on one side, a track for winter on the other one. The Fevers - love alway wins (2004)Les Fevers sont une formation américaine (de San Diego si j'ai bien suivi) auteur de deux albums chez Alien Snatch ( Wheels on Fire , Love Boat, Vermillion Sands etc.), le dernier en date en 2004. Je ne sais pas s'ils sont séparés ou non, c'est pas tout à fait clair, en tout cas l'un des membres (Brian) joue également dans Skipper (un ep sur Bachelor, un single chez Chocolat Covered Records...) et a sorti un super ep en "solo" sous le nom de Fever B chez les toujours très fiables Burger Records (Pizazz, Jaill, Beat Mark etc ...Requiem Pour Un Twister24 August 2011

The Hex Dispensers - one less ghost (2010) ..Les Hex Dispensers sont une formation d'Austin Texas, qui existe maintenant depuis 5 ans, ils ont fait deux albums, leur dernier en date il y a deux ans, sorti par Douchemaster (White Wires, Bad Sports, Half Rats, Crusaders of Love...) & Alien Snatch (Love Boat, Wheels on Fire, Vermillion Sands...). Ce 45 tours est sorti en 2010 et je l'ai découvert en écoutant un peu au pif les sorties de Trouble In Mind sur leur site. La face A est un titre lent, un peu bluesy et rugueux mais en gardant une touche pop, il est vraiment très réussi ...Requiem Pour Un Twister17 May 2011

Bilan 2010 (#4) : Top 10 AlbumAlbum de l'année : Male Bonding - Nothing Hurts [Sub Pop] Un album anglais comme disque de l'année qui l'eut cru ? On ne cesse de ressasser la relative faiblesse du rock britannique ces dernières années. Si j'approuve grandement cette maxime pour la cuvée 2009, je la considère plus que contestable en 2010. Grâce notamment à ce putain de disque de Male Bonding, je vous en avais parlé à l'été 2009 via un single monumental, le groupe a confirmé tout son potentiel sur album, et même largement surpassé.
