Today news surfaced that a new genus of the velvet spider has recently been named Loureedia, “in recognition of the fact that this velvet spider lives underground,” in honor of the Velvet Underground front man Lou Reed. The  spider, which is described as having a “dark and shiny” appearance and is known to live in Africa, Asia, Europe and Brazil. Reed joins both Frank Zappa and Neil Young ...
