VHS OR BETA – Diamonds And Death(Shock) Unfairly-overlooked synth rock band return VHS Or Beta have always had the feel of plucky underdogs about them. Their 2004 debut, Night On Fire was a near-perfect revival of moody ‘80s new wave pop, but unfortunately for them, a certain album called Hot Fuss came out that same year. Thus, The Killers’ became the world’s premier skinny tie rockers, and VHS Or Beta found themselves stuck in support slots. SXSW 2012 Unveils First Round Of Band Announ ..We know it is still November, but how can you not already be excited for SXSW 2012? Given our wealth of coverage at this years event, we’re hoping to make next year even bigger and by the looks of the first round of bands, so are festival organizers. Today the official SXSW website unveiled the first round of band announcements for the March 2012 event.
