On January 16th, their new release is the Baghdad Disco EP from Transformer di Roboter. They are an electronic band from Berlin that has been playing together since 2003 and has played with such diverse acts as Jamie Lidell, LCD Soundsystem, Robots in Disguise and DAF. MICHAEL JACKSON - RISE OF THE MACHINESYou MIGHT have heard about this guy by the name of Michael Jackson , who recently passed away. (I was somewhat relieved when all the SMS and mails stopped coming in last Thursday.) Thriller was the first album I bought. 9 tracks, 7 single out of it. Wow. He's also been a great musical influence to my buddies Transformer Di Roboter . While riding to a gig in Leipzig with them last week, we were surprised finding out how unemotional we all were on the death of our ex idol. R.I.P. MJI was in the elevator at work and two other passengers were chatting when I overheard: "Apparently Michael Jackson died." "Whaaa....??" I blurted in disbelief. He repeated the bombshell news, but it barely registered as I stepped off the elevator in a daze, heading to the nearest computer to confirm the news. I constantly refreshed the news feeds, some of which were still reporting of his being rushed to hospital. Transformer Di RoboterYesterday I was listening to Heavy.com 's "Electro" radio channel and heard Berlin act Transformer Di Roboter's " Hi-End (MetroB and Maszlope mix) ," and since then I've been to their site and found the complete mp3's of " Ultra Maxximizer ," " Raining Blood ," " Tonite ," " Stranger in Moscow " and " King vom Prenzlauer Berg ," which is a cover of a song by the East German band City , and has a video posted on YouTube and at outloud.tv .
