Top 5 Recent Commercial RipoffsWe've been seeing a bit too much of this commercial rip off business on TV advertisements, particularly overseas (I mean Sigur Ros practically has an entire portion of their blog dedicated to the myriad of commercials ripping them off). REVIEW: Kyoto Drive – The ApproachArtist: Kyoto Drive Album: The Approach Genre: Rock Label: I Am Mighty Records Birmingham four-piece Kyoto Drive certainly sound earnest and have launched themselves into their debut EP with gusto. Unfortunately however, there’s a little too much of the obvious to The Approach , a likeable but jaded foray into the much-vaunted pop rock genre. Week 60: R. L. Burnside (First Recordings) ..There’s nothing somber about today. I actually had a pretty fantastic day but today the music is going in a heavy bluesy direction because if I don’t tell you guys about R.L. Burnside I might go crazy. And for me, of all those singer-songwriters in the early 70s, he was the dark star.
