Thrushes - Trees (2010)Although shoegaze passed away, at the time sadly unlamented, in the mid nineties, there are a number of bands - mostly American such as Asobi Seksu - who have made a living in the first decade of the twenty-first century resurrecting it. Thrushes are one such band. Now the term shoegaze has been applied, incorrectly, to many different types of music and there are some who insist on giving the label to every musician and band which comes along and puts a fuzz box between the guitar and the amp. Thrushes - Trees (Video)Thrushes are not a new band and Trees is not a new song, being the opening track to their 2010 LP Night Falls . However this video is, having cropped up a couple of days ago online. It’s impossibly appealing and romantically beautiful. Two girls search for a buried treasure in a sun-drenched and abandoned water park in the middle of nowhere. There’s something very free spirited about their adventure and yet there’s also something sad about the desolate and broken park. Having another one at Krug Park; Hermit Thru ..Rich and tasty, but 16 oz. of the stuff is way too much. Lovely barmaid suggested I follow it with a Delirium Nocturnum, which came in a brandy snifter-type glass and was fruity and full bodied and delicious. And potent. Snow Caps creates light, playful bedroom folk-pop.
