The Swedish band The Pale Corners is one of the my new musical discoveries that has impressed me so far in 2012. They made a beautiful single called “Fireflies” at the end of last year, and now their new single “REM” is ready. “REM” is mixed by Philip Ekström from The Mary Onettes just like the last single, and the two bands definitely have some similarities in their sound. The Mary Onettes ’ Philip Ekstrom recently revealed that he was listening to a lot of Prefab Sprout and Brian Eno. While it’s hard to imagine two more awkward bedfellows, the sounds of both can be felt keenly on Love Forever .
