Wirklich überraschend kam er jetzt nicht mehr, der Stilwechsel, den die schwedische Band The Mary Onettes mit ihrer neuen Single «Love’s taking strange ways» vorlegt – in einer Promomail wurde ich bereits letztes Jahr mental darauf vorbereitet, dass man sich von den melancholischen Gitarrenwänden à la Echo & the Bunnymen verabschieden udn statt dessen poppiger werden würde. Das Ergebnis klingt noch mehr nach den 80ern als ohnehin schon, nur fehlt halt die (angenehme) Düsternis. Wirklich überzeugt bin ich nicht – aber urteilt selbst.
