This great video was directed by Mike Charizopoulus of DRP and stars a few of our friends from Indianapolis (shoutout to the Hoosiers though). When Oreo Jones debuted his Halloween 2010 costume Black Fabio, no one expected it to spawn a concept mixtape that keeps you dancing and laughing front to back. • Earth [Artist Of The Week]
**COMPETITION: Click here to win Earth's new album Angels of Darkness, Demons of Light I!** BIOGRAPHY If you like bands that make you dance, or that make you feel particularly energised in any way, now is probably the time to stop reading. Earth are dark, and not just in terms of their music. Dylan Carlson, the man behind the band and only remaining original member, has a haunting past (he was an instrumental figure in the life of a certain Kurt Cobain) and has battled with his own personal demons throughout the band’s history. The Hoosiers they are ...

  • Wickerman Line Up Unveiled
The organisers of The Wickerman have unveiled details of their tenth anniversary event. The festival season is dominated by the spectre of massive events, but away from Reading & Leeds, Glastonbury et al there is a thriving scene of smaller, rather more community oriented events. Founded ten years ago, The Wickerman is now a cult entity on the Scottish festival scene. Hosted close to Dumfries, the event mixes and eclectic bill with a friendly and familiar atmosphere. Returning for its tenth anniversary, organisers are planning a host of surprises. In the first line up announcement The Wickerman has secured performances from evergreen British rockers Feeder, The Bluebells and more. Liverpool post-punk icons Echo & The Bunnymen are set to drop by, while Craig Charles will bring his Funk & Soul Club to the festival. Elsewhere, Matthew And The Atlas will perform while Riva Starr, The Hoosiers and dance giants Utah Saints are also set to spend the weekend at the Wickerman. Set to headline the Summerisle Stage, Feeder frontman Grant Nicholas said: “The Wickerman Festival’s reputation precedes it as being one of the most diverse in the UK. This will be our first ever appearance and we’re honoured to be headlining the main Summerisle Stage in their tenth year. Even better, playing on the Saturday night is an added bonus as it means we’ll get to stay on and watch the wickerman burn!” Bigger than ever, Wickerman now holds more than 15,000 fans with a total of ten stages around the site. Festival coordinator, Helen Chalmers, said; “In celebration of our tenth year we have extended our site to include ten stages so we can offer an even greater mix of established acts and future stars for the 15,000+ music lovers who will attend.” Tickets are on sale now. The Wickerman is set to run between July 22nd - 23rd.

  • The Hoosiers - Unlikely Hero (Futurmatic Fad ..
"My love's not an island, it's the tip of a volcano" So, thanks to fab music blog This Must Be Pop , I discovered this article about the Hoosiers. I'm not going to go into it here except to say that it covers their breaking with their label and that it's a very interesting read. What it means for us fans, though, is that the band is now running things themselves. They've decided to re-release their excellent 2010 album with a new title and four bonus tracks. I'm psyched about this because (although not being ...

Apologies for the lack of picturehead. I realise The Hoosiers are very aesthetically pleasing and all, but for some reason I'm not allowed to add an image without upsetting a red box explaining how I cannot edit my own blog. Anyway, this is a review of The Hoosiers' new single. Dive in... • The Hoosiers - Bumpy Ride

  • Single Review: McFly - 'That's The Truth' ..
McFly's comeback may not have made quite the impact they desired. In fact, you could, what with only two top ten hits and an album - recently certified Silver - that barely managed to grab itself a seat inside the Top 20, be forgiven for not even knowing they'd made a comeback. It's a bitter taste of the reality of the music scene right now. But, as The Hoosiers had already proven, even "going electro" or "going urban" can sometimes fail to tantalise taste-buds that, three years ago, would have been salivating wildly at the thought of McFly as ...

  • Ones NOT To Watch 2011
You've seen our tips for 2011 but what of those other names currently being bandied around? Here are four artists we’ll be avoiding for a while - we suggest you do the same. What follows are bands ‘tipped for the top’ by other commentators but after considerable research Clash would like to sneak in a suggestion that these are in fact bloated, nonsensical wiff-waff that are better avoided for the litany of fine acts that surround these pages. Gypsy And The Cat If the idea of a slightly scruffy Aussie Scouting For Girls gets you hard then pull up ...
