Subtle flith in this mix, plenty of pure guitar driven rock'n'roll with a garage stench and honest energy. Ty Segall: "Girlfriend" [Live at the Empty Bottle] ( Buy on Bandcamp ) Chicago venue the Empty Bottle  has compiled a collection of live recordings called Live at the Empty Bottle that acts as a kind of survey of the current garage rock and pop scene. It includes tracks from Best Coast, Ty Segall, Crystal Stilts, the Fresh & Onlys, Black Lips, Shannon and the Clams, Hunx and His Punx, the Strange Boys, and more, all recorded live at the club.

The Fresh and Onlys frontman Wymond Miles released a stellar solo EP ( Earth Has Doors ) earlier this year, and has just announced a follow-up LP. Fresh & Onlys guitarist Wymond Miles has announced his debut full-length,  Under the Pale Moon , out June 12 on  Sacred Bones . While Miles'  Earth Has Doors   EP from earlier this year was comprised of tracks that were several years old, he wrote   and recorded the new LP last winter shortly after the death of a friend and some family members.
