Vessels- HelioscopeI am a shallow music listener because usually I don't take the time to find out anything about the band I am listening to. I figure, they sound good, why bother finding out anything about them? Unless of course they are really, really good. (Did you know that Little Birdy was named after a Ween song?) The Vessels made me endeavour to discover something interesting as their music was so interesting, and this would also allow me to tack something onto the end of my recommendation. “Have you heard the Vessels ? When you add in the vicious red faced tiger on the cover of The Human Blade (released Dec. 5th) you have a gorgeous collection of indie pop driven by the voice of Eryn Gettys. New Old Faunts...It's been a while since the Faunts ' latest release; in 2005, they released their debut-album High Expectations/Low Results , and apart from a digital EP release in 2007 ( M4 ), no new material has seen the light of day. Now on November 18th, there was a new release from the Canadians. But... it's "only" a remix album. Well, I'd rather would have seen and heard some new stuff, but I guess we'll take what we get and hope for a future release. The remix album (and of course the other two records as well) are available through ...Music Of The Moment27 November 2008
