  • Two Wounded Birds – “To Be Young”
Enjoy the beach-ready melodies of Two Wounded Birds. The band is reminiscent of The Drums (which is perfect cause they are on Jacob Graham of The Drums label, Holiday Friends Recording Company), with their catchy hooks, bouncy drums, and fuzzy-reverb drenched guitars. And don’t you think there is something endearing about a British band playing [...]

  • Track Of The Day 2/5 - The Wake
Pop is littered with bands that should have made it, that should have reached a wider audience. Yet in the case of The Wake , while that is undoubtedly true the statement perhaps de-values their own achievements. The band hooked up with two iconic labels - Factory and Sarah - and produced some sublime material, guiding the indie scene out of the shadow of post-punk and towards something more melodic, more pop. Seeming to gain a posthumous revival in recent times, The Wake found themselves being lauded by a new generation of indie pop outfits. Deciding to reform, a rejuvenated version of the ...

  • Live Review: The Drums with Dot Dash and Par ..
(Editor’s note: lighting was horrible for most of the night, so apologies on the quality of the photos on here.) I have wistful memories of the first time I saw the Drums. It was 2 years ago at the 9:30 Club, co-headlining with then flavour of the month band Surfer Blood. Before that, I did a very candid interview with Jonny Pierce and then drummer Connor Hanwick at a Caribbean café across the way. It’s... • Two Wounded Birds album details (audio)
After a set of popular singles, Two Wounded Birds are finally releasing their debut album of fifties influenced dream pop. It’s a self-titled release, and if you’re into your rock ‘n’ roll connections you need to know it’s being released by Holiday Recording Friends, which is owned by The Drums’ own Jacob Graham. We’ve got a sample of three tracks for you to taste below, and if you’re into it you have to wait till June 4th (or seek out the early material).   Story originally posted on SupaJam .

  • Week 55: The Drums (The Drums)
Good morning everyone! It’s finally, finally, finally Wednesday and I just need the weekend to come on. It’s going to be a fun weekend in Athens, GA! I didn’t know what kind of energy I wanted to go with today because yesterday’s band was melancholergetic (coined by yours truly on 04.11.12) and Monday’s band  was simply spastic. Many clicks through Spotify’s related artists led me to The Drums and by the time I considered listening to something else I was already too deep into their debut album! So, today’s band is ...

Austin's biggest Saturday day-into-night party was the aptly named Super Party, brought to you by Check Yo' Ponytail, Mad Decent, and Fool’s Gold. SPIN spent the day at Emo's East and the Beauty Ballroom chasing down the best (and wackiest) sets and most quotable rockers: Don't miss our roundup of all of last week's best live concert photos! Wavves: "Why would I give you my drugs?" Wavves' Nathan Williams asked a needy audience member a few songs into his set at Emo's East. Then he added, "That's the dumbest thing I ever heard ...

  • The Drums: "Days" – Elektronik-Produzent Tre ..

Brilliant song! The vocals are relaxed and clean, very good to listen to. The lyrics are nice but typical. The melody sounds nice but is lame. The song has way to less lyrics so you notice the melody even better, that wouldn't be a problem if the melody wouldn't be that neutral.
