Week 60: R. L. Burnside (First Recordings) ..There’s nothing somber about today. I actually had a pretty fantastic day but today the music is going in a heavy bluesy direction because if I don’t tell you guys about R.L. Burnside I might go crazy. I could have featured The Black Keys (they’ll get the spotlight eventually) or some other modern blues-influenced band but I want to feature an artist whose music will instantly take you onto the dusty Southern roads you might only have seen in the movies and whose music is as soulful as it gets. Both not-for-profit groups raise money to fight AIDS through popular culture and consumer products, respectively. Beach House sounds & looks comatose on anoth ..Whenever u say the name ' Beach House ', ppl are automatically like 'they are s0 beautaful and majestic.' It's generally true, but I watched this clip of them on Jools Holland (the UK Jimmy Fallon ) and it seems like they are sorta 'dead' on stage, or maybe in a medically induced coma. It's too dark 2 know if they are passionately playing. Maybe they are nervous? Maybe they feel as though their music took a step backwards on this album, and they wish they were playing Teen Dream ?
