Merge Records Donating Archives to Universit ..Indie rock label Merge Records, started by indie rockers Superchunk, will donate their musical archives to the University of North Carolina. The collection of "music, art, and other ephemera from 23 years of releasing music we love" will open to the public in 2013. It will be housed at the SouthernArtist Direct17 May 2012

Merge Records to Donate Archives to Universi ..Merge Records have announced on their blog that the label will donate its archives to the University of North Carolina . The collection of "music, art, and other ephemera from 23 years of releasing music we love" will open to the public in 2013, and will be located at the Southern Folklife Collection at UNC's Wilson Library in Chapel Hill. Merge was founded in 1989 in Chapel Hill by Laura Ballance and Mac McCaughan of Superchunk. Bob Mould London Date, Re-Issues PlannedBob Mould is set to play a one off London show this summer, running alongside four re-issues. Any discussion of American rock music in the 90s which doesn't include Bob Mould is invalid from the outset. A mainstay with Husker Du, the songwriter defined college rock before going on to lead Sugar. Now working under his own name, Bob Mould remains a fascinating contrary figure. Merge Records to hold benefit to oppose NC a ..Have you heard about North Carolina’s Amendment One? It’s a fun little change to the state’s constitution that would make it illegal to acknowledge any kind of union outside of a traditional heterosexual marriage. At first glance, this seems like the usual homophobic attempts of the right to disenfranchise the gays, but in North Carolina, gay marriage is already illegal.
