Όχι τίποτα άλλο, αλλά θα νομίζετε ότι είμαστε παλαιοημερολογίτες που τώρα γιορτάζουν την έλευση του 2012 και ήδη έχουν περάσει τις θηλιές στο λαιμό τους εν όψει της επικείμενης καταστροφής του κόσμου. El pasado 10 de febrero se ponía a la venta "Losing Colour", testamento musical de la banda londinense Stricken City, de la que ya nos habíamos hecho eco en un par de ocasiones. Se trata de un disco de cuidada presentación, en formato Cd, aunque con portada de 7". Es una edición limitada de 300 copias que se puede adquirir a un precio más que razonable desde aquí . Εν μέσω πολέμων, σεισμών, τσουνάμι, ραδιενεργών αντιδραστήρων, γιαουρτωμάτων, οικονομικής εξαφάνισης της μεσαίας τάξης, άδειων δρόμων, άδειων καφέ, άδειων φαγάδικων, ξύλου στα γήπεδα υπάρχει και η μουσική ευτυχώς. Στο Magiska , στο Isohunt, σε βόλτες στο Metropolis (που καταλήγουν τελικά σε ψώνια απο το πολύ φθηνότερο Amazon) τα χρώματα δεν είναι τόσο μελανά και η εικόνα αποσύνθεσης τέτοια. Υποθέτω κάποια στιγμή η ζωή στην Αθήνα θα επανέλθει και όλοι θα είμαστε πληγωμένοι αλλά πιο σοφοί. Είναι ευχάριστο πάντως ότι υπάρχει ακόμα ζωή (ή έστω ημιζωή) και στα μουσικά δρώμενα της χώρας. Last week, Stricken City's last record ever, Losing Color, came out behind lead single, "Some Say". Eine blödere Betreffzeile wollte mir partout nicht einfallen, tut mir leid. Dabei hat die Musik der Londoner Band Stricken City gar keine albernen Wortspielchen nötig, ihr modern-frischer Indiesound spricht eigentlich für sich. Stricken City's debut EP Songs About People I Know, offered stunning psych-pop glimpses into what could have been, and with the follow-up, Losing Colour, should have placed the band squarely in buzzworthy territory on multiple continents. Now apparently the band has called it quits, making Losing Colour a stepping out instead of a stepping stone.
