  • T.G.I. Fridays Ad Sounds A Lot Like LCD Soun ..
Hey, Beach House! You’ve got some company. What would Roger Sterling do? Pitchfork : Because nothing says potato skins and buffalo wings like mid-2000s dance-punk: LCD Soundsystem seem to have been ripped off in a commercial advertisement for T.G.I. Friday’s, the American chain restaurant. The clip, below, features a song that sounds suspiciously similar to the music from “Daft Punk Is Playing at My House”, the opening track from LCD ‘s 2005 self-titled debut. Read and comment. • The Tallest Man On Earth London Show
The Tallest Man On Earth has confirmed plans for a one off date at the HMV Forum later this year. The time seems to be right for Kristian Matsson. New album 'There's No Leaving Now' finds The Tallest Man On Earth building some serious momentum. Due for release on June 11th, the artist will celebrate its release by playing a show at Hackney Empire on July 3rd. Already sold out, anticipation is surrounding the new release ...

  • Lemonade – “Neptune” Video (NSFW)
In March, Brooklyn’s Lemonade gave us the sterling “Neptune,” as well as some remixes a little later on, and now the group’s come through with a clip to match. It’s a pretty thing awash in cerulean tints and skin, featuring many close-ups on Lemonade lead singer Callan Clendenin, who’s doing some major league yearning. House [...]

  • Track Of The Day 11/5 - Jandek
To be honest, there's not a lot involved in writing a Track of the Day article. The word count is slim, leaving plenty of room to explore something which - in truth - rarely exceeds the five minute boundary. Yet with Jandek even this slim word count seems excessive. Quite simply: there is no information to go on. Hailing from somewhere in Texas, Jandek is a name attributed to the central performer of an ongoing project, a project responsible for countless works of bizarre imagination. Even the artist's true name is up for grabs. Most believe that Jandek is the ...

  • The Cribs - In The Belly Of The Brazen Bull ..
Originally second division players in the indie league, The Cribs have managed to raise their game consistently and the last two albums showed true progression. Disappointing to report then that this latest offering doesn’t continue that trend. It all feels a little weary and, whilst there’s clear commitment and execution, the material suddenly sounds oh so dated. The songs generally lack a killer punch or hook and drift past with little impact. Some sterling guitar work does rescue things to a certain extent, although, with indie struggling to maintain status, there’s far too little substance here to ...

  • What Next For Joss Whedon, Marvel & Hollywoo ..
Most people thought "The Avengers" would make money. The five official Marvel movies to date, from 2008's "Iron Man" to last year's "Captain America" had, after all, made over $2.2 billion worldwide. But most figured that, given that the film followed on to four franchises simultaneously, that there would be a cap on it: surely if "Iron Man 2" made $600 million worldwide, that was the ceiling for the film's grosses? But thanks to sterling reviews, phenomenal word of mouth, and a strong marketing campaign, the film has already made that sum in less than two ...
