  • WILD ADRIATIC to Release New EP 'Lock & Key' ..
Early 2012 saw Wild Adriatic head back to the studio with producer John Naclerio (Steel Train, Brand New, the Ataris) to work on a batch of 6 new songs. The band went in to the studio determined to add more of a soulful, vintage vibe to their repertoire, and the resulting EP 'Lock & Key', is just that - soulful, vintage feeling rock and roll with bluesy riffs and catchy vocals abound. 'Lock & Key' will see its release on April 27th with plans to continue their relentless performance schedule. See below for a list of current tour dates.

  • fun. - Warehouse Live, Houston 20/03/12
High school kids, simultaneous hand-clapping, a shoulder-to-shoulder crowd, and crawfish? How can I even begin to explain this concert? It was a school night, of all nights at one of my favorite local venues and already at two hours prior until doors opened, an anticipated crowd for the sold-out fun. show, wrapped around the block; average age: 14-18. By the time I made my way through to catch a glimpse of Kiwi openers, Avalanche City , all I could hear were distant screams from what sounded like first-time concert goers or die-hard fans. As the night progressed I eventually found out ...

Now I love their new album - it's the first pop project I've been able to listen to front to back in years - but if there's one thing it's missing it's some ...

  • Album Review: fun. - Some Nights
Passing down the pop aesthetic from The Format down to fun., Nate Ruess has only shown progression since the awe-inspiring "Dog Problems" which was laden with insanely catchy songs counteracted with lyrics which only described their bitterness towards the music industry which they felt shun them (listen to: "The Compromise" ). When fun. came along, it truly felt like a supergroup was formed, featuring Nate Ruess alongside Jack Antonoff of Steel Train and Andrew Dost from Anathallo. The track opens with a theatrical introduction aptly titled "Some Nights (Intro)," the hauntingly sparse piano featured in the song doesn't take anything ...

(out now on Fueled By Ramen) Press play if you like: Catchy, panoramic orchestral pop, like an indie-emo Queen or Electric Light Orchestra with a hint of Foster The People.
