Satanique Samba Trio - Self-Destructing Samb ..The Satanique Samba Trio may have the best gimmick in all music, and here at Doklands we love them for it. That and their music, of course, which is a spiky and wholly irreverent mix of avant-garde jazz and tropicalia. If there's anything else coming out of Brazil that's as good as this, then please leave comments below. Self-Destructing Samba-Reggae comes from the SST's recent album Bad Trip Simulator #2 , and it's an example of truth in advertising. It contains “(Some Things) I Can’t Get Used To” which was covered by Frank Black, who cited Angst as a major influence. It’s got some other great songs — “I’d Rather Sleep,” “127 Years,” “One by One.” That seems to be the cliched music-crit culmination where a band becomes comfortable in their own skin for the first time.
