  • Mosman Alder: Burn Bright (Exclusive EP Stre ..
Exciting times ahead for Brisbane’s Mosman Alder, with their debut EP Burn Bright due for release on May 25. Since reviewing the EP’s first single “ Raisin Heart ” last month, Indie Shuffle has become one of the band’s biggest supporters – so much so that they have given us an exclusive sneak-peak stream of Burn Bright . The EP itself almost never happened, with Queensland hit by terrible floods during its creation. Thankfully, the band pushed through, with Burn Bright all the more special because of it. Having had to complete odd jobs for studio time, the EP was then ...

  • Dog Is Dead: Guide To Nottingham
In terms of British music, Nottingham is very much a forgotten city. The area has always had a thriving scene, but somehow this has escaped the attention of the watching world. Thankfully, the success of Late Of The Pier, Swimming and more has helped alter perceptions. Returning this summer Dot To Dot is an ambitious tri-city event, spanning dozens of venues and countless new groups. Fresh faced indie songsmiths Dog Is Dead are amongst them, with organisers handing them the chance to enjoy a no doubt emotional hometown show. Ahead of their set, ClashMusic tracked down Dog Is Dead to ...

We're already missing Groovin' The Moo artists Wavves and Ball Park Music , and with the news of Sigur Ros coming over our way in November there's been a binge of post-rock goodness ...

  • The Festival Diaries: The Great Escape in Br ..
The final day of The Great Escape in Brighton kicked off with the annual Aussie BBQ, a travelling roadshow of Australian musicians at festivals like this and SXSW. You’ll be able to look into our archives to see all our coverage of these wonderful events over the years. There were nine musicians on stage with Brisbane’s Inland Sea . That could not have been a cheap voyage. Luckily for them, they sounded damn fine, so it was well worth it, string section and all. “The Only One” ended the set. Due to Mario hurting his back, The Killgirls cancelled ...

  • Niki and The Dove - Instinct
With the many Prince connotations in Niki and The Dove 's bandname ('Darling Nikki', 'When Doves Cry') and the purple hue on the artwork of their debut album, Instinct , it's no surprise that there are further nods to the High Priest of Pop throughout the 12-track wonder. The Swedish are no strangers to creating masterful pop and Niki and The Dove (Malin Dahlström and Gustaf Karlöf) are no exception. This is a malleable album. When played at low levels, you can take on board the narratives contained in each song, particularly the image-heavy 'The Fox', which was based on ...
