♫ Listen: Sleep Fern - "With Out Her Hood" ..I’m not the kind to wear headphones when I ride my bike. It’s dangerous to fall into the rhythm of a song when your safety depends so heavily on adapting to the rhythms of all the cars and stop lights and holes in the road. The layering of these sporadic rhythms is a soundtrack of its own — the crescendo of buildings and streets falling off into gaps of space allowing cropped pieces of noise and conversation room to play between the layers. “With Out Her Hood” from the mysterious Sleep Fern, sounds like a field recording from the ...Tiny Mix Tapes25 May 2012

Wintersleep - "In Came The Flood" [Music Vid ..In anticipation of their June 12th record release Hello Hum on Capitol Records/EMI, award-winning rock band Wintersleep present their first video for the song "In Came The Flood." Director Sean Wainsteim had the band perform while gliding through an atmospheric space (like they were sliders on a sound board) past stoic individuals lit by rhythmic, pulsing lights. The video for "In Came The Flood" was inspired by the distinct look of old live multi-camera television musical performances from the 70's and 80's. Eternal TapestryIt seems that the Tap wanted to lay down an album that more closely resembled their live setting; a fuming, churning beast of sound and light that seems impossible to pin down to the grooves of a record. Still, as impossible as it sounds, the band have certainly captured as much of that beast as possible in the spaces on Dawn in 2 Dimensions . They've thrown out Space Ritual -era Hawkwind as a touchstone and that's not so far-fetched as it might seem.
