Eminem's boxing movie Southpaw is moving to the backburner so that he can focus on music as opposed to acting. The rapper's rep told Detroit Free Press that "he's focusing on his music right now, so while he's doing that, while he's in that space, he wanted to put this on hold for the time being."

We're not sure how or why a thoroughly average director like Antoine Fuqua can keep stacking up projects, but dude keeps stacking up the movies on his schedule, and good thing too since another one has fallen to the wayside for a moment. Variety reports that Fuqua will now take the helm of "Chicagoland," about which not much is known except that it's a heist flick at New Line. But this one was apparently attracting some big deal talent, as it boasts a Peter Morgan penned script, and Stephen Gaghan was one of the names chasing it down ...

Eminem plans to record new music instead of filming what would be his first return to the big screen since "8 Mile."

Last month, Chicago's Outer Minds released their debut self-titled album via Southpaw . Before that, they did what pretty much every other garage band does: release a handful of singles, play approximately one billion shows, and of course, harness a 1960s psych aesthetic for their own songs. And in terms of reappropriating  Nuggets , "Gimmie a Reason" is a stand-out. It starts with an echoing treble guitar solo, led by an earworm hook and brimming with energy.
