  • Lemuria to Release Secret 12 inch Record
Secrets, secrets are no fun unless they’re released on 12 inch records. Bridge 9 artist Lemuria recently announced a 12 inch record that is completely secret unless you buy it. The band isn’t going to be recording new material until the coming Winter, but it is their hope that this exclusive release will tide fans over until that point. The songs on the record will be material that hasn’t been released on vinyl before, so for collectors you have to snatch this up before they are all gone. You can check out the details of the release ...

  • Wilko Johnson on debut gigs, dodgy venues an ..
Terribly grim business this week with Donald Duck Dunn and Donna Summer -  Larry does the pitch perfect tributes to both  here  and  here  . For my part, in no way a smirch on the life of Donna Summer - but, more a celebration of the deep-reach of her magnificence. Behold the Bollywood refit of I Feel Love.... A snatch of background: On the day I phoned Wilko Johnson for our Vive Le Rock interview, the line was beeping with a gut-rumbling engaged tone. A ticker tape of terrors rattled across my noggin - wrong number, dead line - he's forgotten! It turned out ...

  • School not L its FAO
A six year old kid sang a snatch of a popular song to a classmate. Which could just be a cute moment, right? Except, unfortunately, the song was Sexy And I Know It by LMFAO. Even more unfortunately, the six year old was a pupil at Sable Elementary School in Aurora, apparently home of the Colorado Fighting Over-reactors. The child has now been suspended, accused of sexual harassment and disrupting other students . Sexual harassment. Really. -- Visit No Rock & Roll Fun to comment, complain and kvetch

  • BRIAN MCKNIGHT - "IF UR READY TO LEARN" (VID ..
I just came back from watching The Avengers movie (which was amaaaazing BTW) and spotted this video in my inbox. I remember Mr. McKnight talking about this track a few weeks ago but this video is...well, how can I say this...ok, how about in a way Future would put it; Funny and Embarrassing at the same damn time! I honestly hope this isnt serious on Brian's part. I mean a vagina puppet and girls graduating from "Snatch Academy"? And is it just me or does one of the "graduates" look confused? What are you doing to these ...

With Record Store Day , or “Waiting in Line for Limited Vinyl Day” as I like to call it, right around the corner, this week’s B List features my Top Five picks for RSD 2012. Now in its fifth year, the impressive list of limited edition, largely vinyl releases continues to grow. Get to your local independent record store early Saturday if you want to have a chance at getting the wax you really want. At this point, I’m hoping to get even one of the entries on my list. I tend to flock toward LPs rather than 45s ...

  • THE SMITHS ON BRITISH TELLY (PART 5)
The first actual 'performance' was Friday 4 November 1983 on Channel 4's The Tube with a short, specially commissioned film.  Then there was a Top of The Pops appearance on Thursday 24 November.  The following month it was part of the Derby Assembly Rooms gig and then something really bizarre in April 1984 on a children's TV programme as detailed by Simon Goddard:- Datarun , TVAM's Saturday morning children's slot....the most ridiculous venture of their TV career. Presented by Edwina Lawrie, sister of Lulu and her make-believe computerised sidekick 'Edwyn'. It was indicative of the producer ...
