Organisers of Supersonic festival in Birmingham have today announced a very special and exclusive addition to this years line up. Body/Head will be making the event their only UK performance of 2012. The collaborative outfit featuring Sonic Youth’s Kim Gordon and Boston guitarist Bill Nace have only ever played a handful of shows and have just the one physical release to their name, a limited edition cassette. The new Six Organs of Admittance album is called Ascent , and it's out August 21 via Drag City . For this one, SOoA godhead Ben Chasny enlisted the assistance of some of his bandmates in the defunct heavy psych outfit Comets on Fire , whose sound is definitely present on album cut "Waswasa". While musical artist Ben Chasney has regularly performed under his Six Organs of Admittance moniker with full, onstage support, the experimental guitar shredder is known for working alone when it comes time to revisit the studio.

Six Organs of Admittance have announced that they'll be releasing a new album this August titled Ascent . The band, led by Ben Chasny, will release the follow up to 2011's limited Maria Kapel LP on August 20th via Drag City.
