Bloggy Goodness: New Spider Genus – Loureedi ..Celebrities are used to having things like sandwiches, streets or drinking games named in their honor, but there have only been a chosen few that have had a spider named for them. Today news surfaced that a new genus of the velvet spider has recently been named Loureedia, “in recognition of the fact that this velvet spider lives underground,” in honor of the Velvet Underground front man Lou Reed. New indie supergroup Divine Fits is bornToday is a good day for those of you with a bit of an interest in indie supergroups, so to speak, as Britt Daniel of Spoon, Dan Boeckner of Wolf Parade and Handsome Furs fame as well as New Bomb Turks' Sam Brown have formed a new band. The Cult: "Choice of Weapon" (album review) ..Let's face it, you pretty much know what you're going to get with every new album from The Cult . They have a hard rock sound that is all their own. They've honed it over the years, but much like AC/DC there have been no real radical changes from the beginning. That should tell you most of what you need to know about their new record Choice of Weapon , but I'll go on anyway.
