  • Der große Coast Is Clear Jahresrückblick 201 ..
1. There Is A Light That Never Goes Out – Dum Dum Girls 2. Sensitive – Resplandor 3. Why Don't We – Mint Julep 4 ...

New York City, NY Sarabeth Tucek – I was blown away by this album when I first got it and continue to be so, play after play. “Get Well Soon” is such an incredible album that I’d rather bleed then give up my copy.

  • TOP TEN ALBUMS OF 2011
Tired of lists yet? Sadly I’m not - never have been, never will. So here’s another - highly subjective – albums-of-the-year list to throw on the December scrapheap. This year in addition to the ten below, this year I’ve enjoyed albums from Asva , Awesome Wells , Emily Barker and the Red Clay Halo , Beirut , Benjamin Shaw , Bright Eyes , Richard Buckner , Euros Childs , Comet Gain , Jonnie Common , The Decemberists , Dirty Beaches , Doomed Bird of Providence , Eat Lights Become Lights , Christopher Eatough , Emmy The Great , God’s Little Eskimo , Girls Names , H Hawkline , Half Man Half Biscuit , Hannah Peel , Herman Dune , Invisible Elephant ...

  • Los Angeles Loves... Victoria Noll
Ok, yes, we did stop blogging over a year ago and we never ever do album reviews (because, really, you shouldn't care about what anybody else thinks about music.) But giving some for Victoria Noll is long overdue and actually this isn't really a "review" as much as it is an ode to the future Mother of our children so this is for the kids... Victoria Noll played our Summer Soiree show awhile back ago after our usual yearlong courting ritual. The Mobile, Alabama native was wandering around Los Angeles playing all the typical singer-songwriter joints not really ...

  • Live: Gardeners & Gravediggers. Sarabeth Tuc ..
Always a little disconcerting to find yourself frequenting the House of the Lord in order to indulge in musical delectation that barely borders on the remotely hymnal. More discomfiting still is that empty Carlsberg cans are tonight propped up against a basin of holy water beside the entrance to St. Pancras Old Church, while hymnbook holders serve as cradles for plastic cups brimming with red wine. Beyond the church's swinging glass doors  Oh Ruin , bewhiskered and bedraggled, looks a little Messianic, as if delivering an acoustic-led sermon in a possessed fit induced by some form of divine intervention. However ...

  • Stand By The Light
Get Well Soon is the sophomore release of Sarabeth Tucek. A beautifully sad album filled with somber melodies, swelling electric guitars and Tucek’s striking vocals that cut deep into your soul. Stunning. Oh how I needed this album tonight. I let it in and it stirred all this emotion around. I have to let go [...]
