S. Carey: Hoyas EPBeing a member of Bon Iver is equal amounts blessing and curse. The positives are obvious: success, fame, Grammys, critical acclaim oozing out your ass. But the biggest negative (particularly for everyone involved in the band not named Justin Vernon) is that any other music you make will be subject to constant Bon Iver comparisons, likely for the length of your career. New releases for the week of May 8, 2012It certainly can't hurt to kick off about this week's new releases by mentioning the new album from Silversun Pickups . Their album Neck of the Woods (pictured) is out this week, and it's just hard to imagine a band that works harder. Overall, it's a good week for indie releases. Not only from Silversun Pickups, but also S. Carey , Royal Headache , and Here We Go Magic . Dee Snider (that dude from Twisted Sister ) has a solo record and The Duke Spirit get remixed.
