I’m really liking the production on these new Walkmen songs for the upcoming album Heaven, has a great live feeling to it. Leithauser and Pecknold should do more songs together, the mix of the rough and the smooth goes well together.

Here’s another taste of the Walkmen’s upcoming album Heaven. This time around the track features a contribution from Foxes">Fleet Foxes’ Robin Pecknold. It’s a lot more folky thank we’re used to expecting from the Walkmen. In fact they may have out Edward Sharped Edward Sharpe on 2012 albums. [via 24B]

  • The Walkmen ‘We Can’t Be Beat’
Walkmen">The Walkmen are a seriously busy band, seemingly constantly either touring or recording new material, and sometimes doing both. In keeping with this image the band have been releasing a constant stream of material from their upcoming album 'Heaven', which is out on the 29th of this month. The latest of these songs is called 'We Can't Be Beat', and it displays a bit of a different side to the outfit, featuring Robin Pecknold on backing vocals and much softer instrumentation than we're used to hearing from the American band. It's rather beautiful.

We’ve heard the title track among other previews of the new Walkmen record, Heaven, and now for a taste of Foxes">Fleet Foxes frontman Robin Pecknold’s guest turn as backup vocalist. As with Pecknold and Co.’s Helplessness Blues, this Phil Ek-assisted set opens with thoughts on aging: “We Can’t Be Beat” finds Hamilton Leithauser reflecting on “golden dreams,” [...]

Another song dropped off Walkmen">The Walkmen’s forthcoming album Heaven (out June 5th via Fat Possum). With the tracks I've heard, this sounds like it could be another album of the year contender. “We Can’t Be Beat” features Fleet Fox Robin Pecknold on backing vox. Have a listen... The record is the band's sixth and was produced by Phil Ek (Foxes">Fleet Foxes, Shins, Band of Horses) in Seattle. The band just celebrated their 10th anniversary and are still comprised of the same members that started the group in 2001 - drummer Matt Barrick, multi-instrumentalist Pete Bauer, singer Hamilton Leithauser, guitarist Paul Maroon and bassist Walter Martin. Am 18. Mai erscheint das Drittwerk "A Different Ship" des amerikanischen Quartetts Here We Go Magic via Secretly Canadian. • New Music Video: Here We Go Magic
Serious talent must run in the Pecknold family because Sean Pecknold, brother of Robin Pecknold (Foxes">Fleet Foxes), directed the highly entertaining new music video from lo-fi psych-pop band Here We Go Magic. Their song, "How Do I Know," with its swirling guitars, simple Destroyer-esque melodies, and and insanely catchy chorus has been growing on us ever since we first heard it, and this video makes it even better. An elderly man's jealous wife demands that he destroy his cheerful dancing robot, and
