After a three year hiatus, where front man Jónsi took to multiple projects that included solo album Go, side project Riceboy Sleeps and soundtrack for Cameron Crowe's We Bought A Zoo, the prolific Icelandic band has announced they will be touring again in 2012.

Icelandic post-rock godheads Sigur Ros have uploaded a series of early demos to their SoundCloud page. Sigur Ros have been quiet of late. The Icelandic group chose to take time off last year, focussing on their families after a hectic 12 month period of live performances. Lead singer Jonsi wasn't content to sit still. Working on his Riceboy Sleeps project, the songwriter then decided to record a solo album. On November 15, New York's Church of St. Paul the Apostle hosted the premiere performances of pieces by two members of Sigur Rós . As part of the White Light Festival , Riceboy Sleeps (pictured above), Sigur Rós frontman Jónsi Birgisson's project with boyfriend Alex Somers , performed six songs with the Latvian National Choir and the Wordless Music Orchestra. The choir and the orchestra also premiered "Credo", a contemporary classical piece from Sigur Rós keyboardist Kjartan Sveinsson .
