Rancid have announced some non-consecutive tour dates spread over the next few months. The veteran punks will be hitting San Francisco for two shows with Cock Sparrer , festivals in Europe (Groezrock, Rebellion Punk Music Festival, Rock in IdRho), Punk Rock Bowling and one-offs in Albany, NY and Boston, MA. The band's main goal for 2012 was to record a new full length with longtime friend and producer Brett Gurewitz. The annual music festival and bowling tournament known as Punk Rock Bowling has just announced the first set of bands playing this year's event. The first five bands announced include Rancid , NOFX . Pennywise , The Adicts and (following a long period of inactivity) The Briefs . Punk Rock Bowling takes place this year May 25-28 in Las Vegas, Nevada. More details can be found here .

14th Annual Punk Rock Bowling and Music Festival announces the first 5 bands: Rancid, NOFX, Pennywise, the Adicts and the Briefs. More bands will be announced soon. This will be a 3 day festival with 4 nights of club shows, 2 days of bowling, texas hold 'em and pool parties. This will be the biggest punk rock party of the year. The copyright battle continues on another front as a UK Patents County Court judge found that copyright infringement could occur even if the photo has been recreated from scratch. According to the ruling , " copying a photograph does not require a facsimile reproduction, it is enough to recreate the scene or a substantial part of it. The National Association of Recording Merchandisers (NARM) will award their annual Independent Spirit Award for 2012 to Epitaph Records founder and Bad Religion guitarist/songwriter Brett Gurewitz. Records, which was founded in Berkeley, California, in 1987 stopped releasing new music in 2006, but continued keeping its back catalogue alive until the end of last year. It has now officially shut up shop, and its releases are currently unavailable even on digital services like iTunes.
