Neil Young - "Live in Chicago 1992" CD Revie ..After enjoying Neil Young's acoustic set on the recently released Live on Air / The Lost Tapes CD ( see review ), I've been more attentive to some of Neil's one-off releases that have been coming out on little European labels. I recently picked up this 2CD set, Live in Chicago 1992 , from Amazon.co.uk for ~$15 (inclusive of shipping. This 20-song / 110 minute set captures a tight solo performance by Neil which was recorded on Nov. 17, 1992 for broadcast on PBS' "Centerstage". Neil Young - "Live on Air / The Lost Tapes V ..This second volume of Live on Air / The Lost Tapes captures an electric performance by Neil Young and Crazy Horse at Rock in Rio III. The show took place on January 20, 2001 and was simulcast in digital stereo so the sound on this disc is near perfect. This 65 minute / six track disc captures the second half of Neil's 11 song performance and, as this was Neil's first performance in Brazil, the crowd responds enthusiastically as Neil plays extended versions of some of his better known songs. Neil Young: New Neil Young Songs, Albums To ..Not only does Neil Young continue to write new material, but he's got loads of unreleased songs and albums that have yet to come out through his Archives series. Tracks from his upcoming album, produced by Renaissance man Daniel Lanois, will be debuted as part of Lanois' contribution to the Nuit Blanche festival in Toronto on Oct. 2. As Lanois tells the Toronto Star, "At the strike of midnight, we will premiere four tracks from the Neil Young record, visually and sonically." Sounds very new media. Everest At Ameoba Wednesday June 16th by Aly ..The big rock boom of new hipsters Everest was on show at Amoeba in LA yesterday night and they drew a rather large crowd in the popular record store. Everest is a quintet, which was formed in 2005 by Russell Pollard. From Sebadoh fame, to Folk Implosion credit, Pollard was half of Alaska! in the late 90’s, before going back to writing the music he really like with Everest.
