We spend too much time making summer playlists, hitting play on Grizzly Bear because the sun’s out, because we feel obliged to. Or maybe I’m just feeling miserable as I hide indoors and play Portishead at full blast. Regardless, the seagulls which appear in the background of ‘ Knuckledown ’ don’t make this effort any happier - it’s a stark, gorgeous track though, with some twisted vocal takes to swerve it into unknown territory. Quakers release new videoHip-hop mega group Quakers (that mega description isn’t a stretch—there’s over thirty people in the group) recently released their Radiohead -sampling single ‘Fitta Happier,’ referenced from the band’s OK Computer robotic audio track. Simpson">Guilty Simpson and MED split verses as the backing piece throw rhythm’s from ‘Paranoid Android’ over the stretch. Music Review: Daughn Gibson - All HellDaughn Gibson All Hell [White Denim; 2012] by Elliott Sharp Rating: I was recently listening to All Hell , the debut album by Daughn Gibson, and queued up right after it in iTunes was Lil B’s The Basedprint 2 . As the last track of All Hell segued into the opening track of The Basedprint 2 , I thought it was the same damn album. That’s ’cause All Hell has a somewhat similar cloud-rap sound — without the rapping, of course, but the music’s something like a Clams Casino instrumental.
