The Louisville electro-folk of Whistle Peak is a similarly buoyant and luxuriant experience: eleven tracks of melancholy-tinged Vaudevillian alt-pop floating on banjos, xylophone and egg-shaker with washes of electronic flutter and mechanical scrape that soothes and surprises. I've been really enjoying the new album from Porcelain   Raft  called Strange Weekend .   Porcelain Raft is the solo project of one Mauro Remiddi who has done a lot musically from traveling with Berlin Youth Orchestra to playing piano in off-broadway productions.  He also is the singer for London-based indie-pop band Sunny Day Sets Fire , but as Porcelain Raft he makes electronic pop that sounds like it's recorded in outer-space.  On Strange Weekend  he reminds me of a more pop-song-oriented Panda Bear .  Check out the fittingly spacey video for "Unless You Speak From Your Heart" below.
