Andrew Paul Regan (formerly Pagan Wanderer L ..Andrew Paul Regan (who you may know as his previous pseudonym, the anagrammatic Pagan Wanderer Lu) will release his album The Signal And The Noise on Brainlove records this June 4th. Andrew Paul Regan - John Frum Will Return ..You should know Andrew Paul Regan if you're a regular STN reader, it's an anagram of his real name Pagan Wanderer Lu (subs pls check). The Signal And The Noise is his new album, out June 4th on home of the hits Brainlove, and he writes a bit about it over yonder . Using the tale of Vanuatuan folk hero John Frum and the belief in mythology and belief against reality, it's a very fine return to his broken toy electronic anti-pop roots which heads from summery oddness to a circuit bending disco frenzy. This latest addition to the Brainlove travelling carney show is Joel Midden of Chicago, whose work throws together samples, odd polyrhythmic percussion, processed vocals and, as his primary weapon of choice, kalimba. On this cut from an album released here on the 30th the African thumb piano is pressed into tinkly, starry, musical box-type loops as above it things go not unlike TV On The Radio in the barber shop harmonies at multiple octaves over undulating carefully outlain atmospheric obliqueness. Pagan Wanderer Lu Announces 'Digital Boxed S ..Pagan Wanderer Lu to release back catalogue 'boxed set'. Veteran cult songwriter and lo-fi anti-hero Pagan Wanderer Lu has announced plans to reissue the two albums and nine EPs he self-released before signing to Brainlove Records in 2006. It was a very good yearSome quick notices of releases for the last month of the year by two artists that made this here albums of the year countdown. Firstly, Pagan Wanderer Lu's last release, he says, for a while is Pervert Oven ("I burned my hand on my oven at home. Sweeping The Nation Albums Of 2010: Number 2 ..The label bumf describes European Monsoon as Pagan Wanderer Lu's most accessible album yet, only for it to refer to itself as "a few hundred megabytes in iTunes no-one will ever listen to" over buzzing bass frequencies. Yeah, this is still on a scale that doesn't take radio friendly unit shifting into account.
