– An additional 50-plus acts have been announced for this year’s BIGSOUND Live , the live component of September’s BIGSOUND industry conference/talkfest in Brisbane. Joining the likes of Eagle & The Worm, Adalita and Jonathan Boulet are The Vasco Era, Gossling, Noga">Mike Noga, Thundamentals, Andy Bull, Velociraptor, Lanie Lane, Belles Will Ring (pictured), Numbers Radio, San Cisco, The Paper Scissors, Ben Salter and Papa Vs Pretty. This year's event – to be held from September 7-9 in Brisbane's Fortitude Valley live music precinct – will feature 80 acts across two nights in eight venues. For more information and the full line-up click here . – Splendour in the Grass kicks off this weekend in Woodford, Queensland – and if you’re not cashed-up enough to be there, Virgin Mobile are streaming performances from a selection of acts including Kaiser Chiefs, Elbow, The Vines, Cloud Control and The Vaccines. The streams will be available on July 31 from Virgin’s YouTube channel , or via the free Splendour in the Grass app if you’re using a mobile phone. There will also be live stream parties in Melbourne (Bimbo Deluxe), Sydney (Beach Road Hotel) and Perth (The Rosemount Hotel). More details here . – The Falls Music & Arts Festival drip-feed continues, with the addition of 12 more acts. Aloe Blacc, Dan Deacon, emma louise (no capitalisation required – kids these days…), Josh Thomas, The Kooks, Lanie Lane, Metronomy, Missy Higgins, Nouvelle Vague, Pnau, The Jim Jones Revue and Young MC will join Foxes">Fleet Foxes, J Mascis and Unknown Mortal Orchestra at the New Year’s festival in Lorne, Victoria (December 28-January 1); and Marion Bay, Tasmania (December 29-January 1).
