  • Roy Orb D.M.T., "Breathing"
D.M.T., Doctor of Metaphysical Healing " height="500" src="http://cdn.imposemagazine.com/__data/roy-orb-dmt-doctor-of-metaphysical-healing.jpg" width="323" />Perhaps the original impetus for covering the new release of Roy Orb D.M.T. 's Moon Glyph tape Doctor of Metaphysical Healing was for the easy "no relation" reference we all can make to the similarly name-saked Run (D.M.T.). It was also a nice trick throwing Mr. Orbison and the 90s ambient house Brits into the moniker's two preceding syllables. But this stuff is flat weird, and not in any obvious, blown-out reverb or scarred noise pollution ...

  • Hauntlanta Night One: Umphrey’s McGee Busts ..
Improv rockers Umphrey’s McGee have taken their annual Halloween celebration to The Tabernacle in Atlanta this year and the festivities got off to a rousing start on Friday night. The Chicago-based sextet dusted off a few covers they hadn’t played in years and unveiled the first mash-up of the two-show run. No Woman No Cry / Let It Be Mash-up by Umphrey’s McGee Following the anthemic instrumental Nipple Trix in the opening slot, a 20-minute Ocean Billy set the pace for a jam-heavy first set that also saw Hurt Bird Bath surpass the 17-minute mark. In a break ...

  • traffic music
Yesterday, while stopped at a traffic light with my windows down to enjoy the fantastic mid-60° Los Angeles weather, the woman in the car next to me started listening along to War On Drugs">The War On Drugs ' "Baby Missiles," asked me who they were, and commented that "it sounds good!" Don't mind my noise pollution... It was perfect Sunday driving music, actually... except maybe that the length of Future Weather couldn't last my car trip, and I had to cycle through it twice. Lucky for me, they have a follow-up coming on August 16th, em>Slave Ambient ...

  • And If You Don't Like It, Fuck You: The 10 W ..
It never fails—each year brings a new bucketful of rotten singles, causing trusty Chart Rigger sidekick Moogaboo and I put on the rubber gloves and fling them into the trash bin where they belong every December. And 2010 was certainly no exception! Below are the 10 biggest culprits of noise pollution we found lurking around the airwaves over the past 12 months. 10. Christina Aguilera , "Not Myself Tonight" Moogaboo says: "The public deflation Xtina's bloated sense of entitlement was one of the more entertaining disasters of the year.
