The odd couple pairing of free jazz maestros The Thing (Mats Gustafsson on saxophone, Ingebrigt Håker Flaten on double bass, Paal Nilssen-Love on drums, percussion, and sampler) and dance pop maven Neneh Cherry is hitting the road to promote their forthcoming LP, The Cherry Thing , out June 18 on Smalltown Supersound! After two initial shows in Stockholm on May 17, the collaborative foursome are set to take a host of club spaces and festivals by storm. Der Londoner Elektro-Musiker Kieran Hebden – besser bekannt unter dem Namen Four Tet – hat den Track "Dream Baby Dream" von Neneh Cherry neu arrangiert. Die Original-Version des Songs wird auf dem im Juni erscheinenden Langspieler "The Cherry Thing" von Neneh Cherry und The Thing zu finden sein. Erst vor kurzem präsentierte der 35-Jährige seine neue Single "Jupiters" ( motor.de berichtete ). Der aktuelle Sound des Post-Dubsteppers ist eher industriell angehaucht und erinnert teilweise an Burial , mit dem der Brite in der Vergangenheit bereits zusammenarbeitete.
