Spoonboy (Max Levine Ensemble) to release so ..Spoonboy, lead singer of The Max Levine Ensemble , will release his second solo record The Papas on May 1, his first in six years. Sitting at the piano disappearingSecondo me un gruppo che debutta con un album intitolato Et Tu Fluffy? parte già col piede giusto, senza aggiungere che l'anno scorso hanno anche pubblicato il singolo natalizio James Brown Died on Christmas Day . Sono gli Hands and Knees , vengono da Boston e nel frattempo sono arrivati al terzo lavoro, Wholesome . La nostra Classifica dei Dischi del 2010Nonostante le corse, i traslochi, gli aerosol e i regali dell'ultimo minuto, anche stavolta io e La Fagotta siamo riusciti a mettere assieme le nostre classifiche dei dischi dell'anno. Lo specifico ogni volta: questi non sono "i migliori dischi dell'anno", ma solo quelli che ci hanno fatto più compagnia nel 2010. Ci piace tenere un piccolo diario in musica di questi mesi ormai passati, tra quello che abbiamo trasmesso e quello di cui si è chiacchierato qui. Getting excited about Athens Popfest 2010 ..After a year off in 2009, Athens Popfest returns August 10-14. I'm pretty excited about it, as my professional life has prevented me from seeing much live music lately. I'm particularly excited about veteran acts The Apples in Stereo, Mission of Burma, Oh-OK, and Your Heart Breaks, along with local favorites Madeline and Grape Soda. There's a lot more to see too, including a bunch of local bands on my radar, and it's only $45 for the whole festival. Should be a great late summer event and worth a visit to Athens for the out-of-town crowd ...Cable and Tweed16 June 2010

Nana Grizol - RuthNana Grizol s andra album Ruth har funnits vid min sida sedan början av året och fått oerhört flitigt med speltid. Men trots bandets kopplingar till Elephant 6-skivbolaget Orange Twin , som drivs av Laura Carter från Elf Power (som också är medlem i Nana Grizol), har skivan inte fått i närheten av så mycket uppmärksamhet som den förtjänar. Med tanke på hur mycket bandets skramliga pop betytt för egen del under våren så känns det givetvis trist att skivan hamnat lite i skymundan. Soundmässigt är bandet närbesläktat med andra Elephant 6-akter såsom exempelvis Neutral Milk Hotel då den gitarrbaserade folkrocken ...Let's pretend we're bunny rabbits3 April 2010
