  • Bilan 2011 (#4) : Les 10 meilleurs albums de ..

  • Citizen Insane's Best of 2011 - Top Tracks: ..
As with every oncoming new year, we take the end of December to reflect on the people we should've kissed, the phone calls we shouldn't have made, the opportunities we squandered, the surprises we relished and, most importantly, our favourite music of the months past. While these Best of 2011 lists are admittedly overwrought and a little pointless, I can't help but throw my hat into the ring, compiling my top tracks of twenty-eleven, many of which you've already read about here... Just like last year, I'm hosting all 25 MP3s, which you can grab ...

  • Nodzzz - innings (2011)

  • Nodzzz – Innings (Woodsist, 2011)
Innings is the second full-length from garage-pop trio Nodzzz and their first for New York imprint Woodsist. Its simple title is a nod to their origin: songwriting core Anthony Atlas and Sean Paul Presley met playing baseball in Olympia, Washington, and started Nodzzz upon relocating to San Francisco.  The album offers fourteen discretely memorable songs

  • Woods - Sun and Shade
It seems like Woodsist Records can do no wrong, at least as of late. So far this year we’ve been treated to an astounding album of burbling folk in Ducktails III and an exciting approximation of the tape warped pop of the mid 60s in White Fence’s Is Growing Faith , not to mention several other great efforts from Ryan Garbes and Nodzzz. It seems appropriate then that the creators of the label would jump in with something of similar quality and with Sun and Shade , Woods has done just that. For the most part Sun and Shade is ...

  • Music: Music Review: Nodzzz: Innings
What the Ramones are to punk, Andrew W.K. is to metal, and Ke$ha is to dance-pop, San Francisco’s Nodzzz tries to be for lo-fi indie-rock on Innings . Young, dumb, and full of irrepressible goofiness, Nodzzz takes 23 minutes to nonchalantly bang out 14 songs on Innings , using about as many brain cells in the process. Innings doesn’t call out for penetrating analysis: “Fear Of Advice” is about being afraid of advice, “I’m Not A Wanderer” is about someone who isn’t a wanderer (at least not anymore), and “Primitive” is, yes, a primitive 93 seconds ...

  • NODZZZ – INNINGS
FUCK I LOVE NODZZZ THEY ARE A REAL COOL BAND FROM SAN FRANSICSO AND THEY HAVE THAT LO-FI JANGLE POP GARAGE POP SOUND GOING ON WITH SLIGHTLY ANNOYING VOCALS BUT IT REALLY WORKS! SOMEHOW! THEIR FIRST 7″ ‘I DON’T WANNA (SMOKE MARIJUANA)’ HAS BEEN CALLED ‘ONE OF THE BEST SONGS OF ALL TIME’ BY MEDUSA, [...]

  • The Daily Choice: Nodzzz - Heyday Past Heyda ..
Nodzzz were a strange gateway band in to my San Francisco life.  I stumbled across their gawky, angular power pop in the rushed moments before I moved my entire life, and their buck-toothed squalor seemed to fit my own awkward transition.  After the sheer joy of their self-titled 12″ on What’s Your Rupture, it’s been [...]

  • Interview: NODZZZ’s Anthony Atlas on ‘Inning ..
NODZZZ – “Time (What’s It Going to Do?)” Innings is the excellent new album from SF trio NODZZZ, out today on Woodsist. The record’s nervy, poppy jangle feels timeless in the best possible way. If you’d discovered Innings as a cassette 20 years ago, it would’ve sounded great, and I think someone discovering it 20 [...]

  • Co-Premiere: Nodzzz
Nodzzz return to the fold with their longest release to date, packed full of their delightfully itchy brand of jangle-pop. Adjusting their horn rims securely on their noses, the boys pick out 12-string nerd rock odes to therapy, relationships, second hand clothes and anxiety that squirm comfortably in their power pop shoes. Its hard not to be charmed by Nodzzz, they seem the most unlikely of rock stars and that familiarity is exactly what draws them closer on each listen. They get in, get out and get stuck in your head all under 2 minutes. Download: [MP3] Nodzzz - Heyday Past ...

  • Nodzzz // Innings
Following what seemed like the world’s shortest LP ever (I’m pretty sure it clocked in at the fifteen minute mark), San Francisco garage poppers Nodzzz has a more lengthy — albeit still not a standard length LP — follow-up, entitled Innings that’s getting the Woodsist treatment. One of the first cuts to hit the [...]

  • Nodzzz - Innings
by Evan Hanlon The f-word gets tossed around a bunch when talking about Nodzzz. Fun, that is. They have always written insanely short, catchy pop songs in the modern idiom, and, for those looking for the one line post mortem, Innings doesn't just not disappoint, it delights. It also introduces another... Read More
