  • LOOKING BACK: Purple Sneakers DJs at Groovin ..
The ‘Groovin the Moo Festival’ recently took its traveling circus around the country and our Purple Sneakers DJs were lucky enough to smuggle themselves into FLAVA FLAV‘s luggage and ride his coat-tails from Bendigo to Bunbury. Playing alongside acts like MUTEMATH, WAVVES, KIMBRA and HERMITUDE, the dirty duo spun records state-to-state to adoring masses (who [...]

  • Live Review: Groovin' The Moo Festival - Can ..
Arriving in sunny Canberra around 10.30am, it was a shock to the senses when exiting the car at The Meadows on the grounds of the University of Canberra. Festival goers were treated to a taste of temperatures of around 9 degrees (I checked) with a wonderful, icy breeze thrown in for good measure - welcome to Canberra in autumn! The cold weather in mind, I still find it both confusing and humourous that there were punters dressed in shorts, singlets and all number of summer clothing items. Having ventured to Canberra last year for Groovin’ The Moo and also missing ...

  • Mutemath / The Cairos
The Zoo – Thu May 10 After a couple of recent shows in Brisbane, it would appear that local lads The Cairos are at it again; ever vigilant and keen to impress. Their rise to fame has earned them quite a neat little rep and the density of the crowd attests to this. Their classic indie pop speaks for itself and the on-key melodic pinings of frontman Alistar Richardson are nothing short of amazing. Fringe flicking becomes a motif of the evening as dishevelled locks impede vision across the ...

  • The AU Crew Poll: Who would you like to see ..
In this month's AU Crew Poll, we asked ten of our contributors to tell us which artists they were dying to see perform live in Australia. As you will soon find out, most of our contributors had a lot to say on the matter! Jay-Z, Depeche Mode, My Bloody Valentine and Of Montreal “I don't think any hip-hop experience will ever beat seeing Jay-Z in New York, but the undisputed king of the rap game has not had a headline tour here since 2006. With his buzz continuing to grow down here in Australia you can be sure ...

The Groovin' The Moo tour has already begun for another year and so far, the positive reviews have been coming in thick and fast. After a day lazing about and getting to know the other bands on the line up, it's back to business for New Orleans music genre-benders Mutemath , as they hit rehearsals for their sideshows and the rest of the GTM tour. Frontman Paul Meany calls through from their Brisbane rehearsals and has nothing but praise for the band's touring experience, which also doubles as their first time in the country. How has your day been ...
