UNITED STATES OF AMERICA

In today’s music world every man and their dog is embracing eclecticism. Yet can anyone name a DJ capable of playing both grime rave Dirty Canvas and hipster disco Bugged Out! in one weekend? Or a producer as adept in the studio with tech house heavyweight Brodinski as indie-singer E... Read More

  • Digital Soundboy FabricLive Preview
Digital Soundboy are offering up a short preview ahead of their forthcoming FabricLive mix. Believe it or not, but Digital Soundboy have never released an official mix. A true force in bass culture, all that will change when 'FabricLive 63' hits online and physical retailers a little later this month. A dense, fast moving mix FabricLive 63 packs some 49 tracks into a little under an hour. Shifting between styles and generations, Digital Soundboy open with Nina Simone and end with 'Original Nuttah'. There's a lot to take in, so it's perhaps appropriate that Digital Soundboy have supplied ...

  • Radar Recommends: Cerebral Ballzy's Bart Sim ..
If you read the Cerebral Ballzy feature in NME a couple weeks back, or saw the band live in the UK this past week or so, you'll know they're a bunch of wreckless freaks for whom normal rules don't really exist. We met up with them in NYC (where Ballzy live) and, to recap, it basically involved lots and lots of rock'n'roll spoils, with added throwing up and blowing [stuff] up. It was the best kind of wrecklessness, basically. Anyway, the band always put out decent mixtapes, and their latest is no exception. Alongside a ...

  • A-Trak - Live At XOYO
East London’s alt. Mecca – XOYO in Shoreditch – was a fitting location for tonight’s beats and bass-heavy lineup, featuring Mumdance, Gesaffelstein, and A-Trak, with support from breaks producer Tayo and d’n’b veteran Fabio. After new kid on the bass / mashup scene Mumdance has relayed some moveable moments, an ever-dapper Gesaffelstein takes the stage and tears into various chunky, dirty electro cuts. There is much chat about this French producer at present, with tonight being probably his biggest UK show so far and putting plenty at stake. However – as expected from seeing past performances – he calmly and professionally ...

  • Scandalism and Fresh to Death present A-Trak ..
This Saturday sees A-Trak, Mumdance, Fabio, Tayo and hotly tipped Gesaffelstien at XOYO. Pretty ridiculous lineup if I do say so myself. If I can muster up the energy after Lovebox and Snoop Drizzle, I may head down. Running 9pm – 3am, tickets are £12.50 a pop and you can grab yours from XOYO. Pretty Fresh also sent over this exclusive mix from Gesaffelstien, which...
