Suffice it to say, the two he’s best known for, Minutemen and The Stooges, are arguably two of the most important, fascinating and mould-breaking-ly unique rock groups you’re ever likely to encounter. Mixtape # 40 / May 2012 / Slightly Slutty Mi ..Subtle flith in this mix, plenty of pure guitar driven rock'n'roll with a garage stench and honest energy. Right off the bat Montreal's own Each Other gives us a insight into what this young band could achieve. Raw, catchy and cool. Then there is Black Gum , hailing from the ever so eventful Austin, Texas. Another promising act that delivers a killer track with "Sludge", that reminded me strongly of Beat Happening that I simply had to throw in one of my Calvin's favorites. fIREHOSE to release Columbia years retrospec ..fIREHOSE, the post- Minutemen project from Mike Watt and George Hurley, will be releasing lowFLOWs , an anthology of music from the band's years on Columbia Records from 1991 to 1993. The two-disc set will contain 45 tracks, including remastered editions of 1991's Flyin' the Flannel and 1993's Mr. Machinery Operator . Each album will occupy its own disc, plus additional rarities and bonus tracks; disc one also contains the band's Live Totem Pole EP. The anthology is set to be released April 3rd, 2012. fIREHOSE reunited this year to play the annual Coachella Festival, as well as ...PunkNews3 April 2012
