This isn't normally my kinda thing, but some upbeat Robert Smith on a dreary Friday seemed like a good idea. The band is Lightsout , a Brooklyn indie duo who formed over a mutual love of The Cure front man and Emily Haines from Metric, not a bad launchpad really. Here’s a second glimpse into Metric‘s upcoming album, Synthetica (the first being “Youth Without Youth”). The second official single is “Speed The Collapse,” an offering that somehow harmoniously balances out Emily Haines’ delicate, sensual vocals with an energetic, aggressive tempo.
