News: Funding ‘Boost’ For Contemporary Music ..Arts Minister Simon Crean has boosted funding for contemporary music – and he’ll do so to the tune of a whopping $750,000 a year. Announced in last night’s budget, the $3-million pledge to contemporary music over four years will include $1.7 million to Sounds Australia to “support contemporary music artists by increasing the number and frequency of venues booking live music and to encourage international acts to use local support acts”.
