Lianne La Havas (born 23 August 1989, London, England) is an English folk and soul singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist. On 5 December 2011, the BBC announced that she had been nominated for the BBC's Sound of 2012 poll. La Havas' father's family was Greek, her mother's Jamai... Read More

  • Lianne La Havas Takes Los Angeles
London-based singer Lianne La Havas has captured our hearts and now the word is out. She made a triumphant return to Los Angeles with a show last night at the Bootleg – Stevie Wonder was there, need I say more? We’ve been all over her “Lost & Found” EP and her debut full length “Is Your Love Big Enough?” (which I hear is amazing) is due out on August 7 via Nonesuch. This is just the kind of artist we love to throw our weight behind. She’s beloved pretty much across the ...

It’s an uncharacteristically beautiful Friday evening as we hot foot it down the A23 to Brighton for the most exciting new music festival of the year, The Great Escape. We may have missed a cracking first couple of days, but we’re determined to fit as much folk and folk-related loveliness into 36 hours as is humanly possible… First on our whistle-stop tour is the Kommedia Studio Bar for the gorgeous Lianne La Havas, who more than lives up to the hype.  She may be as cute as a button with her trademark ice-cream hair, but there’s nothing ...

  • Listen To: Two Inch Punch - 'Paint It Red' ( ..
Two Inch Punch is rapidly becoming one of our favourite new producers over at RFB HQ. The creator of love-step has already dazzled us this year with his smooth and soulful remixes for Metronomy and Lianne La Havas and this track, taken from his forthcoming EP ‘Saturn: The Slow Jams, goes in even smoother. Taking a step away from the hip hop indebted ‘Love You Up EP’, ‘Paint It Red’ is electronic soul at its best and showcases Punch’s production prowess as well as his experimental leanings – those hi hats you’re hearing are actually spray paint cans – whilst ...

  • Festival Frolics: The Great Escape 2012.

Here's who we saw and what we thunk in fortunately concise format... Thursday I Ching Lovably gawky, the Finsbury Park pairing fall a little heftily on ...
