  • 33.6 - A Chance To be Lazy
Can you see where this is going? The last couple of posts in the 33 series have been more labour intensive than they might look, meaning I briefly had to use my brain. Now, I don't want to have to do that too often. It's a small small brain, it gets used up quite quickly, and I might need it at some point later. With that in mind while trying to think of what I wanted to do today I looked out the window, typed "sun" into search on my music folder, and this is a selection of ...

  • Dream Festival: Tim Burgess
Tim Burgess knows a thing or two about festivals. Lead singer of The Charlatans, the frontman has spent the best part of two decades entertaining crowds across the UK, Europe and beyond. Gaining more than a few memorable stories along the way, Tim Burgess recently put down some of his more intriguing anecdotes into an autobiography. Logically titled 'Telling Stories' the book is available to buy at all good book shops. To celebrate, ClashMusic invited Tim Burgess to curate his Dream Festival - here's what he came up with... - - - The first thing I was thinking when putting together the line ...

  • Concert Review: Lambchop, April 24th, Lincol ..
I was lucky enough in my freshman year of college to have a roommate who was not only not psycho, but was probably half the reason I made it through my first year of school. Besides the fact that I would occasionally walk into my room and find a chocolate bar on my pillow, Maria also just looked after me. Case in point – my first couple of months into the school year a friend gave me Johnny Cash’s album … →

Initially I was looking forward only to sampling some of the Company’s excellent beverages, however, further info provided nearer the event highlighted that there would also be a number of bands entertaining the assembled shareholders from late afternoon. Therefore, the event basically took on a ...

Their sound was warm and subtle like sipping a glass of fine old scotch. There was no resemblance to "alt country" at all. In fact, their music has more in common with intimate club jazz, with Wagner's mid-range voice bordering on rhythmic spoken word, though he showed his range at times. Some really beautiful stuff.

If only every city had a Hopscotch. Wake up the day after with a horrible hangover but with a great smile, remembering how much fun you had the night before. That's what this song is to me.
Just imagine if this guy had gone on Idol or Voice or some cuss, he would've been thrown off stage. Luckily sites like these exist. Great song from a man who dares to be vulnerable.
