In 1994, Daft Punk sent Soma Records a demo called ‘Drive’. Soma are a Scottish label specialising in electronic, Daft Punk are now massive. But Drive got put to one side while Soma pursued other Daft Punk tracks, and appears to have lain undisturbed until a Soma staffer was browsing some old DATs. The good news is you’re going to be able to hear it, as Soma are whacking out “Soma Records: 20 Years”, a three cd boxset dedicated to their output, with original tracks and mix collections.
