Peter Gabriel Celebrates So Anniversary With ..This year marks the 25th anniversary of Peter Gabriel 's blockbuster record So . It featured the monster hits "In Your Eyes", "Sledgehammer", "Big Time", and "Red Rain", as well as the Kate Bush duet "Don't Give Up". To celebrate the anniversary, on September 18, Gabriel will reissue the album in a variety of formats, including a three-CD set and a Super Deluxe Box Set. Accompanying the reissue, Gabriel will tour North American with members of the band from the first So tour, performing the record in full from start to finish. Even groups who outwardly adhere to the guitar, bass 'n' drums archetype are showing signs of sneaking off to Plastic People in their spare time. Some might complain about the familiarity of the record given many of the tracks have already been released via EPs but that shouldn’t detract from 'Instinct' which should be judged on its own merits. Saturday At Land Of Kings - Live In Dalston, ..Bank holiday weekend dawns and it’s off to a Baltic Dalston for the optimistically-named Land of Kings festival. First stop on our stumble through the grimy kingdom of cool is the cavernous Magnolia for some fortifying Desperados, trippy projections and experimental electronica from the Public Information DJs. From thence we make our way back down Kingsland Road to the Eastern Curve Garden where Clash has decided to sock one in the eye to the British weather and hold a May day fete and reggae party, temperature be damned. Melodica, Melody & Me And Niki & The Dove ..This cold, rainy Saturday sees Camden’s very British take on SXSW: The Camden Crawl. It’s also the FA Cup final so pubs are teeming with rowdy, beer-swilling supporters. Huddled upstairs, on a tiny stage in The Enterprise, are Melodica, Melody and Me. The room is full and bustling with chirpy punters. It’s one in, one out. Downstairs, the final fifteen minutes of the match play out and momentary cheers disrupt the peaceful refuge.
