Back in 2010 , I described Hollow Talk by Danish act Choir of Young Believers as "a melancholic Fire">Arcade Fire doing the soundtrack to Wallander" (I used them as an example of a band that made beautiful music, but couldn't or wouldn't do self-promotion on social networking sites). Hop Farm Festival announce final line-up add ..The last remaining acts have now been named for this years Hop Farm Festival. UK bands I Am Kloot and Athlete will join names like Primal Scream, Peter Gabriel, Suede and Bob Dylan in Kent on the weekend 29th June – 1st July with other new additions to the bill being Taj Mahal, Jose Gonzalez and Nitin Sawhney. Ane Brun - OneA few weeks back, singer Ane Brun previewed her album It All Starts with One (released this week) with a hypnotic duet with Jose Gonzalez titled "Worship". The song brought an emotional and haunting video with it that, as it now appears, is but one of a series of cinematic offerings from director Magnus Renfors. Earlier this week we got our hands on a new video for "One", which it seems is actually the first part of the narrative. A rolling collective from the deserts of Africa, Tinariwen have found an accepting audience here in the UK. Kings of Convenience had one hell of a debut album in Quiet Is The New Loud . Even better was the fact that only six months later, they released Versus , one of the best remix albums I’ve ever heard (check out the two opening tracks, courtesy of Four Tet and Royksopp ). Recently, he covered "Coming Down," a track by Middlebury '04 grad Anais Mitchell, at an in-studio live performance at an Australian radio station; listen and download over at Stereogum .
