Best of 2011: Favourite EPsHonourable Mentions: Amity Beach , Amity Beach ; The Polymorphines , The Slip 7. INTERSTLLR , INTERSTLLR EP 6. Bad Passion , Doin' It Slow 5. Digits , I'm putting these three albums together because, really, there's not a whole lot separating them -- not just in terms of placement on this list, but musically. They're all icy synth-pop with a heavy '80s influence, and they're all really good. That's not to say they're totally identical, of course. Look up at Jets OverheadI have to admit that part of the reason why I'm so fond of Bystander , the new EP from Overhead">Jets Overhead , has absolutely nothing to do with the band: it reminds me of Young Galaxy circa their self-titled debut . Considering that Young Galaxy's most recent album suggests that they've abandoned that sound for good , I couldn't be happier that someone else has picked up where YG long ago left off.
